Yar, this update has revealed something to me that I'm not a fan of. The feet in this are... terrifying. It's like the sprite form of the tiny, tiny feet from Fire Emblem Awakening. In the extra scene there's a point where the duke and Rose look like they have pig trotters.

So my theory that at some point they will make Leto look like a traitor to either side, the kingdom or Shanni's tribe, is becoming more and more accurate.

Probably not for at least another six weeks. Updates have started taking longer due to a mix of greater ambition and unreliable commission artists.
Hm. Finished update 17 and while I liked pieces of it I found most of the update kind of boring. The maps were tiny and the update felt extremely rail roaded since there wasn't much to see and you could really only go in the direction the story wanted you to. The background stuff for Lily and Haylen felt like a massive waste of time and resources due to how inconsequential it was, and while I realize that this was unavoidable due to the nature of their content being optional it still felt largely pointless. The revelation of Cyanna stumbling across Rose and the duke having sex was shocking and unexpected, but it still rang hollow due to the rest of the update and because of how little the story feels like it has developed. Even the emasculation of Leto that took place a few times in the update felt at least a few updates late. Unfortunately I think update 17 might have killed my interest, I found it boring enough that I cancelled my sub. It's been a stretch of what I would refer to as subpar updates and 17 was the last straw.
I personally liked the update, but at the same time I didn't like it, I think it's because of the same thing you say.
I guess N_taii is trying to rush things a bit to finish the game as soon as possible and maybe that's why some things feel a bit forced, I think I would have preferred a bit slower progress for this update, although well, N_taii warned that update 17 was filler so we can't say it's his fault either.
I personally will continue to support it, maybe until the next update or update 19 and then I will come back to the game once it is complete.

I feel like it's more accurate to describe it as a grey area. Incest is against the rules, which is why you have so many games circumventing that with unofficial patches that will change the dialogue from referring to a character as "landlady" to "mom." (Which can still get you banned from Patreon if the moderators are in a bad mood, but they usually don't go out of their way to do the extra work.)
But something like NTR is a lot trickier for them to enforce. Chapter 2 hasn't had any issues for like four years now despite Aywin being Noah's real mother, which is probably the result of the game completely avoiding even the slightest implication of any sexual tension between them. The only bold line is that you can't have a character like Noah directly enjoying it as a sexual thing... which we've never gotten from Henteria regardless, despite it being on my Christmas wish list every year.

While I deeply appreciate the support and feedback you've given thus far, I think that might be for the best. You know, I always listen to what people have to say, be it good or bad, and try to let it shape my game as much as I can. It's the same for you. For the past few months, I've read your messages complaining about this and that, and while it always hurts a little that people don't like something, I either take it upon myself to change it if I can, or if it's art related, I let the artists know.
But for the last few months, I'm not sure if you've realized, but all of your comments about the updates have been entirely negative. I don't think there was a single word of praise at all, and you interact a lot in this thread. I understand, it's in the nature of things. People pick up on things that irks them a lot more easily. It's the same for me. But when it's constant, it feels like a nail being slowly hammered into you, like you're not good enough, because I care about people's opinions a lot more than their money.
I believe it might not only be about the updates being subpar, but about you losing interest. You probably don't remember, but the last update you actually said you liked was the party at the Duke's manor, which was in essence pretty similar to the current one. Small maps. Railroaded. Drama. So I thought maybe you'd like this one, but apparently it wasn't enough. Hell, I even added Lily and Haylen in this update because you asked for it and because people backed that request, which meant I had to change the entire update's story, add a ton of maps to fit it, add a lot of variations based on whether people had completed their content or not, and take a whopping two months to finish the update, only for the maps being called "too small", and Lily and Haylen's content to be called "inconsequential" and a "waste of resources"? What else can I do but throw my hands up in defeat at this point?
Anyway, sorry for the rant. I hope I don't sound too dramatic. I thank you for the time you've spent here and your feedback, albeit negative, that has helped shape the game into a better version of itself, and sincerely hope you find what you're looking for on this site.
PS: I let the artist know about the "pig feet". Hopefully he'll do better from now on.
I can assure you "rushing" anything isn't and will never be on my mind. If it had, it wouldn't take 25 hours of gameplay for a creampie^^ Maybe I'm just afraid people will get bored so I try to cram more "interesting" things together? I'm not sure.
With how much of a pain Patreon has been with this kind of things, I'd rather not take my chances. Even Haylen and Cyanna, even though they're adopted, are off-limits to Leto according to the site's rules.

I've always thought that a person needs to be borderline psychopathic to do this job. A creative work where you're the sole person working on it is like putting your soul on display for all to see and comment on. In a bigger work environment like a AAA game, if one person's work is cause for people to comment negatively on it, that person might not even see those comments cause all they really need to do is submit their work and collect their pay, and if it's bad enough that their boss reprimands them for it, they'll probably do it really gently since that's just how office culture is. But when you're self employed and having to directly read harsh criticism all the time about your work that is again, basically your soul on display, I would imagine that it really feels like a constant barrage of needles through the heart.
